Profile
Danish born soprano, Anne Aaen, diploma graduate from the Royal Danish Academy of Music Copenhagen , has established herself as one of the leading musicians in Denmark , with a very versatile profile , acclaimed as the ´soprano with the golden voice ´ in both new music and standard repertoire , a leading figure in various ensembles , such as The Baroque trio CPH , and the opera quartet , She is still a part time member of the Danish National Radio Choir but solo work now plays an increasingly large role in her performing life, thus 2009 placed her in front of an orchestra and choir singing the lead solo soprano part in Handel’s ´Messiah ´ , to high critical acclaim !
She has commissioned works from overseas composers, most notably Fabrizio Festa (Italy), this collaboration led to a solo chamber concert at the old main hall of Danish Radio in Copenhagen which featured the world premiere of MY ICON, a piece written for her by Fabrizio Festa. The press wrote:
“Festa knows how to write melodic phrases which in the finest way accentuate Anne’s rare quality of sound. Her unique presence and pure, truthful interpretation of the texts gave the audience a rare, beautiful and intimate experience.”
Anne Aaen’s wide-ranging repertoire includes the music of all the major lied composers as well as opera composers –
When Anne isn´t singing , you would probably find her travelling , midst boarding a plane , for UK or Spain , to do business in both places , meeting up with good friends , rushing to a dinner or concert , or in the kitchen cooking a light meal , with some mellow jazz on the iPod dock, - concert schedule permitting , with a glass of fine wine added !! Life is by definition to be lived, and not saved for tomorrow!!
